Domain Registration, Web Hosting, WordPress Blog Set Up and Go Live!

So you want to have your WordPress blog up and running FAST? I have list for you the 5 EASY STEPS to make this happen. In 30-60 minutes from now you can be LIVE with your own website, hosting account, WordPress blog and start to BRAND and MARKET yourself, your products and engage in the world of Social Networking.

Are you ready? Here we go…

1. Domain Name Registration – YourName.com – Follow this link to register at: GoDaddy –> http://tinyurl.com/n63aav (5-15 minutes)

2. Hosting Account Set Up – This is where your Domain will be hosted on a shared server at HostGator –> http://tiny.cc/mmPTM (10-15 minutes)

3. Change DNS – Login to GoDaddy.com and enter your username/customer # and password. Go to the green Domains tab at the top, choose Management & Renewals – My Domains – Change DNS – Click bottom radio button and save changes. This will point your newly registered Domain over to HostGator. –> http://godaddy.com (5-10 minutes)

4. Install Word Press – Enter http://YourDomainName.com/cpanel. (Example: http://scottmagers.com/cpanel) Once prompted type in your username and password (the one you set up when you registered for HostGator). This will take you to your cpanel. From here scroll down the page and find the blue smiley face called Fantastico Deluxe. Click on the icon and it will redirect you to another page.

Find the Blog heading on the upper left hand sidebar of next page and click on the WordPress option. Click the Install WordPress link. This will direct you to the installation page. First box will show your Domain name. Second box leave blank. Third box type in admin. Fourth box make up a password (write down the username (admin) and the password where you can find it. Fifth box type in YourName’s Blog (for example Scott’s Blog). Sixth box change to your Primary email address. Seventh box leave alone. Eighth box type in “blog.” Next click the Install WordPress button at the bottom of the page.

On the next page type in your email address one more time and click the button at the bottom. (10-15 minutes)

5. Login to your WordPress account

Login to your WordPress account and view your dashboard. Go to http://YourDomainName.com/wp-admin. Use “admin” as the user name and type in the “password” you chose to set up the WordPress blog on the last step. (2-5 minutes)

And there you have it!  Check back soon for more updates on getting turning your computer into an ATM machine.
